Fight against human trafficking for labour exploitation - The role of Trade Unions
25 October 2021
At the Volkshaus, Stauffacherstrasse 60, 8004 Zürich
Trade unions act in the interest of workers, are contact points for problems and have access to employers. They act as an interface and are therefore key actors in detecting suspected cases of trafficking. To date, only a very small proportion of trafficked persons are identified for labour exploitation. Trade unions can play a crucial role in changing this situation so that more trafficked persons can be identified and linked to help centres in the future.
On the basis of three input presentations followed by a panel discussion, experts from authorities, counselling centres and advocacy groups will discuss what human trafficking for the purpose of labour exploitation is, how human trafficking is recognised and what role trade unions play in detecting and supporting trafficked persons.
This event is exclusively for trade union members. If you are still interested in attending, please indicate the reason in the comments field of the registration.
